Midwifery

We Prepare Students for the HND program organise and supervise by the state body MINESUP .

Our BSc program is under the mentorship of university of Buea.

Studying midwifery involves learning the specialized care of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, as well as providing care to newborns. Midwifery students delve into subjects such as anatomy, physiology, reproductive health, and neonatal care. They also learn about prenatal care, childbirth techniques, breastfeeding support, and postnatal care for both mother and baby.

Midwifery education places a strong emphasis on holistic care, focusing on the physical, emotional, and social well-being of the mother and her family. Students gain practical experience through clinical placements in various settings, including hospitals, birthing centers, and community clinics, under the supervision of experienced midwives and healthcare professionals.

In addition to clinical skills, midwifery programs emphasize communication, advocacy, and cultural competency, preparing students to work collaboratively with women from diverse backgrounds and provide personalized care that respects their autonomy and preferences.
