Alpha Higher Institute Douala (AHID) was created four years after the creation of Alpha Professional Training Institute on the 12th of January 2011. Alpha Higher Institute is in charge of training candidates who are owners of the advanced level certificate. The duration of training is three years and at the end of training a Higher National Diploma is offered to the students who passed the exams. The Higher National Diploma is offered by the Ministry of Higher Education to students who have being judged apt and competent during practical and theoretical exams. It used to be only under the Anglo-Saxon system of education and the following courses were offered.

It was later modified into a bilingual training institute during the 2012-2013 academic year and the following courses were offered to the francophone students.

During the academic year 2013-2014, Alpha higher institute launched the Bachelors of Science in the institution with a number of 8 students who were ready to run the programme. This BSc programme is offered in the following programmes

Alpha Higher Institute has as ambition to start Masters Degree programmes with foreign partners in all the field of study her institution is offering. Other courses like curriculum studies, education and Dental Therapy shall be added to the courses offered by Alpha Higher Institute Douala.
Alpha Professional Training Institute started with a number of 5 staffs and 11 students and as time went by there was a rapid increase in number. In the recent years Alpha Professional Training Institute had a number of 41 students at the OND level both in the francophone and the Anglophone section. In the 2013-2014, Alpha Professional Training Institute had a number of 26 students in the francophone section and 31students in the Anglophone section at the OND level.
Alpha Higher Institute Douala started with a number of 7 staffs and 24 students. During the academic year 2012-2013, there was a rapid increase in number in the Institute. There were about 41 students who were enrolled for the Higher National Diploma Training in Nursing and Business Administration. In the academic year 2013-2014, there was an overall number of 249 students in the Medical and Biomedical field and an overall number of 53 students in the Business administration field. The total overall number of students in Alpha Higher Institute Douala undergoing training for the Higher National Diploma Both in Medical Biomedical and Business Administration field during the 2013-2014 academic year was 302. The total overall number of students in Alpha Professional Training Institute undergoing training in Nursing Science and Laboratory Technology in both the francophone and the Anglophone section was 57.
The registration and enrolment for the academic year 2015-2016 is currently going on and a fixed number of enrolled students in the institute has not yet being gotten.
